Fr. Erasio Flores, SVD

Fr. Erasio Flores, SVD died 2:30 PM, April 28 2011 in Lourdes Hospital from cancer of the lungs. Requiescat in pace.

Fr. Erasio Flores, SVD was a Cebuano born in 1933 and  was ordained a priest in 1959. He served as major superior of the SVD Region of Mindoro from 1970 to 1977, after which he was elected to the SVD Generalate in Rome as general consultor. In this capacity he served the Congregation from 1977 to 1988. Since 1989 he has been engaged in the special pastoral ministry of the SVD ministering the Filipino migrants first in Madrid; then, since 1996 until April 2004 in Berlin.

When Fr. Erasio Flores, SVD, came to Germany’s capital he brought with him a prayer message for the Filipino women:

“Lord it’s a mystery how you have sent the

Filipinas in Berlin straight into the

heart of the family as housewives.

You must have an important mission for them.

Help them to live up to it.”

  10. I was in Berlin as Consul at the Philippine Embassy from 1998 to 2002. I had the opportunity to know Father Flores as he ministers to the needs of the Filipino community. He was very much respected and admired for his dedication and simplicity.

    Rest in peace Father Flores.

  19. this is sooo sad.
    I have been a follower of Fr. Flores in Madrid and he guided me thru difficult times.
    I saw him last in august 2008 and was with him for two hours.
    We used to communicate during his birthday and Christmas.
    No wonder he didn´t reply to me this last December!
    I will dearly miss you Fr. Flores!!!
    Thank you for your time, for your guidance and for your love.

  20. I’ve heard about the death of Fr. Flores , maybe last year . May he rest in peace . It’s so sad that we did’nt know more details here in Switzerland . Fr. Erasio Flores , we filipino migrants miss your inspiring words . Thank you for sharing your time with us ..
