The pilgrim symbol of the 51st International Eucharistic Congress was warmly welcomed in Dasmariňas, Cavite (Diocese of Imus). Several delegates from the Archdiocese of Cebu explained to the more than a thousand attendees at the De La Salle University which include parishioners, students, teachers, sisters and members of the clergy the significance of the IEC 2016 which shall be held in Cebu this coming January 24-31, 2016. The last time the Philippines hosted this Catholic event was in 1937 when Cebu Archbishop Emeritus Ricardo Cardinal Vidal was among the first communicants.
