The San Isidro Labrador chapel of Upper Punawan was formed when the mother chapel of San Isidro in the Proper Punawan was closed. This chapel is also one of the smallest chapel in terms of population. In 2000, during the year of the Great Jubilee, the annual Holy Week pilgrimage called Panawduaw, kicked-off in San Isidro Labrador chapel of Upper Punawan. It was initiated by Jesuit priest Fr. Guy Guibelondo. He also requested that an altar be built outside the chapel for the Panawduaw Holy Mass.
