Our Mother of Perpetual Help Chapel of Abunda

Our Mother of Perpetual Help Chapel of Abunda, Circa 2013

The place where the chapel of the Mother of Perpetual Help is erected was once called “kalabasa” because of the many squash growing in the barrio. Later on, it was changed into Abunda to connote the abundance marine and agricultural life in the area.

Their chapel has a painting of two big lighted candles. I even joked, “it’s the candle that never runs out of light.” I like the community because many of them are mass-goers.
