When I took over the Youth Ministry of the parish, Saturday became another busy day for me. Today I would like to give you a glimpse of my typical Saturday life in my mission area. Pictures were taken last August 28, 2010.
At 9 in the morning, I visited the youth in one of our chapels. We had our Bible sharing. Hanga ako sa mga kabataan dito. They really involve themselves in the spiritual activities of the parish.
After our lunch at the chapel, some of these young ones joined me in our usual Saturday home visitation. Binisita namin ang bahay ng isa sa mga kabataan namin sa Lawis. This is a community whose houses are connected through little bamboo bridges. If you are not careful, pwede kang mahulog. Dagat na kasi sa ilalim ng mga bahay. Tiyakad ang tawag sa mga bahay nila.
We gathered all the youth in the area and we had our sharing of the Word of the God. Mind you, kahit mga tsikiting very confident mag-share about the Word of God.
After our sharing of the Word, we always have the agape meal. Ito isa sa mga paborito ko, hehe. It also provides a great opportunity to experience God and share Christian faith.
My ministry builds on the experience of those early Christians – who met often for fellowship, to strengthen their relationship with Jesus, to share the Lord’s Supper and to worship God in praise and awe. (Acts 2:42-47) The impact upon friends who are being introduced to Jesus is positive and tangible.
P.S. Pag-uwi ko sa convento, major, major ang aking happiness. Busog ang katawan, busog din ang kaluluwa.
