The Locals Call this Orchid "Latigo"

When I transferred here in Parokya San Miguel, my staff joined Fr. Manuel Mijares and me in going to the barrio for our Gasa Balik sa Dios (GBSD) re-orientation. Natutuwa ako sa mga staff ko. They would ask our parishioners to give us orchids for the beautification of the parish. Nonoy (left) gave us a very long orchid — “latigo”, as the locals call it here. I was so amazed at this gift. This is the longest orchid I have seen in my whole life so far.

This orchid is now at the top of our langka tree in Parokya San Miguel, Municipality of Mabuhay, Olutanga Island, Zamboanga Sibugay.

Meron kami nyan dati…
